Remark : When the recombinant cells were treated with deoxyelephantopin at concentrations of 0.1 micromolar and higher, an increase in CYP3A4 protein expression was observed. Concentrations in the range of 0.1-10 micromolar produced a statistically significant induction of 30-49% relative to the positive control. Deoxyelephantopin appeared to moderately induce the enzymatic activity of CYP3A4 between the concentration range of 0.01-0.1 micromolar.
